Eitelborn, July 15, 2022 - After 10 years as a professional, Boris Stein is retiring at the end of this season, Stein announced yesterday on his Facebook page:
"I'm grateful that I've been able to earn money with the sport for the past 10 years. I also like the idea of ending my professional career and being at least partially competitive and not squeezing my body to the last. There's life after that.
That's why I decided to stop playing professional sports after this season. Since I still have a lot of fun training and optimizing my performance, I will use the rest of the season for this and after two smaller races in the Rhein-Neckar-Cup I would like to do two more long distances."
At the last Ironman Frankfurt he took 8th place overall with the best bike split (4:10:29h), but missed the Hawaii slot for the Ironman World Championships 2022.
The last races:
23.7. Ladenburg
28.8. Viernheim
11.9. IRONMAN Wales
11/25 IRONMAN Israel
