Garmin unveils the next evolution in pedal-based power measurement: the new RALLY pedal system. The Vector successor measures more precisely than ever before, offers extensive analysis functions and enables top-level training. The absolute highlight is the compatibility with all pedal platforms: Look Keo, Shimano SPD-SL (Road) and even Shimano SPD (MTB). Each platform is represented by an independent RALLY system. The highlight: the pedal platforms can even be exchanged.
RALLY road
The principle of the Vector successor remains the same: a plug & play pedal system with either one-sided or two-sided measurement. Simply screw on, pair (ANT+ / Bluetooth) and off you go. Simple and user-friendly, ideal for use on multiple bikes. For the new RALLY system, however, the entire hardware has been completely revised and redesigned for the two most common road pedal platforms Look Keo and Shimano SPD-SL . The designations provide information about which system is involved:
RALLY RS 200/100
RS = Road Shimano SPD-SL
200 = measurement on both sides
100 = one-sided measurement
The highlight: the pedal bodies are interchangeable. Since the power measurement is located in the pedal axle, the pedal body of the new RALLY system can be exchanged at will, ie the platforms can be changed at any time (they are then available separately).
Garmin specifies the measurement accuracy as +/- 1%, which is an excellent value for a pedal-based system and is therefore in no way inferior to high-quality crank-based systems. In addition to the pure performance measurement, the double-sided variant contains all the extended features that we already know from the Vector system: right-left balance, step analysis, cycling dynamics. If you still decide to measure on both sides after purchasing the 100 version, you can easily upgrade the system.
RALLY XC
The first Garmin SPD-MTB power meter pedal system! Robust design for mountain biking or gravel use. All of the features of the Road variant mentioned are implemented for the first time on the MTB platform: easy assembly, quick setup, easy swapping between bikes, one-sided or two-sided power measurement.
The power measurement in the pedal axle is just as precise (+/- 1%) as the RALLY Road variants and also includes all the extended functions in the double-sided version. If you opt for the one-sided version, you get just as reliable performance values, but you have to do without the right-left balance and the pedal analysis (Cycling Dynamics) functions. Retrofitting from one side to both sides is also possible here without any problems.
