Next Friday, November 25th, Patrick Lange and Sebastian Kienle will get down to business again at the first IRONMAN ISRAEL. Both had taken a break after the IRONMAN Hawaii and didn't start shortly afterwards at the 70.3 World Championships in Utah.
For Patrick Lange it is already about a valuable placement for the coming season, the chance of an early qualification for Hawaii 2023 and thus going into the new year without qualifying pressure. In the past few weeks, he and his training colleagues Boris Stein and Patrick Thomschke put the finishing touches on Mallorca for the last race of the season.

Sebastian Kienle, on the other hand, really turns the lever again on the home stretch of his career. With his strong sixth place in Hawaii, he showed all doubters that he is still a force to be reckoned with. He is now taking this upswing with him to Israel. He is at the starting line without any pressure and with a lot of anticipation - he has nothing to lose, as he explains on his Instagram account.

Middle East Championship
The IRONMAN ISRAEL takes place in Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee. After a successful IRONMAN 70.3 debut last year, both distances will be covered this year - half and full IRONMAN distance. The long distance is advertised as the continental championship "Middle East Championship" - so it also offers more qualification slots for Kona '23.
The bike course is almost completely flat and leads in two loops as a turning point along the lake shore. A strong cyclist with a "big engine" like Sebastian Kienle can work out a real lead here.

We keep our fingers crossed for both athletes and look forward to a German podium.
