IRONMAN 70.3 DRESDEN - Neuauflage am 18. September wieder mit neuer Radstrecke

Next Sunday the time has come: the holding of the first IRONMAN 70.3 DRESDEN, which was postponed to September 18th, will now take place as planned. The triathlon, originally scheduled for July 31, had to be canceled a few days before the planned race date due to a lack of official route permits, leaving the participants with a lack of understanding and disappointment. Organizers and authorities had agreed on September 18 as an alternative date. However, it is unclear how many of the more than 2,000 participants who were previously registered will be at the starting line.

New bike course again

Compared to the previous version of the route, the course of the bike course has again been slightly changed. This is now - after three unapproved variants - the fourth published version. Critical passages that led to official rejection, such as the complete closure of major federal roads and motorway access roads, have now been avoided. There remains a turning point course that has to be completed twice. Around 500 meters of altitude difference have to be mastered over a total of 90 kilometers.
