The following rules apply to all participants in the triathlon.de CUP Munich:

  • An FFP2 mask must be worn until just before the start. All athletes must keep a distance of at least 1.5m from other people, even when overtaking. At the finish, the athletes receive a new mask that must be worn throughout the competition area. Click here for the entire hygiene concept.
  • Athletes are responsible for completing the correct distance and the correct number of laps. The helpers provide support (marksman and lap counter).
  • The swim course can be managed without any aids (e.g. fins, gloves, socks, paddles, snorkels, etc.). The regulation for wearing a wetsuit can be found here in the FAQs.
  • After the competition briefing, which the speaker conducts with the athletes in the respective transition area, the athletes go together to the starting area (of course at a distance). The athletes of a starting group line up in the starting area (meadow on the north-east corner of the regatta course) in rows of two with a distance to the next and front man. You start in twos next to each other (1.5m rope distance) with a distance of 3-5 seconds to the next couple from the north-eastern jetty of the regatta course. The time starts when the timing mat is crossed at the end of the bridge.
  • The jetties are relatively old. To avoid injuries, we have laid out carpets on the jetties. The athletes must always move on these carpets.
  • Bike and helmet must be in perfect technical condition. This will be checked by the competition judges at check-in.
  • Upper body clothing must be worn when cycling and running. The start number must be visible on the back when cycling and on the front when running.
  • The helmet must be worn closed (lock closed) from picking up the bike to putting it down in the transition area.
  • Getting on the bike is only allowed after leaving the transition area at the corresponding marking. After cycling, you have to dismount again in front of the entrance at the corresponding marking in the transition zone (both are clearly marked optically).
  • With the exception of youth B, all distances are held with a slipstream ban. The slipstream zone is 12m long, measured from the front edge of the front wheel to the front edge of the following competitor's front wheel. An overtake must be made within 25 seconds. A rider is considered to be “passed” when the overtaker's front wheel is in front of the overtaken's. The overtaken must fall back and get out of the slipstream zone within 25 seconds. The lateral distance when overtaking must be at least 1.5m.
  • A competitor who does not indicate clearly enough that they will comply with these regulations will be penalized with a time penalty.
  • The littering zone on the bike course is about 40m behind the north-east corner of the bike course. See also the route map .
  • After crossing the finish line, the athletes can eat briefly in the finish area and then have to get their things from the transition area and leave the competition area immediately. Contacts are to be avoided here as well.
