Collins Cup Ergebnisse 2022: Team Europe verteidigt den Titel

Team Europe are again winners of the Collins Cup . The team of Normann Stadler and Natascha Badmann won eight of the 12 races in an amazing show of dominance to defend the title they won in 2021. Twelve months ago they broke the 40-point mark, this time with 53 even more. And all without the likes of Jan Frodeno and Lucy Charles-Barclay, who starred in 2021. Team Europe put in an excellent performance in Samorin, Slovakia to once again come away with the win.

Team International had a decent day with four individual wins, but it was a shocking afternoon for Team USA as they failed to record a single win and took home the Broken Spokes trophy as a result.

Score & results - how it works

Final result: Team Europe 53 points, Team Internationals 38 points, Team USA 22.5 points

This is how it works: In 12 individual races (6 women / 6 men), one athlete from Team Europe, Team USA and Team International compete directly against each other - always over 2 km swimming, 80 km cycling and 18 km running.

The winner of each race receives 3 points, second place 2 and third place 1 point.

In addition, there is a bonus point system for goal lead between athletes:

1.5 points for a lead of six minutes or more

1 point for a lead of four minutes or more

0.5 points for a lead of two minutes or more

The next and last race of the PTO World Tour will take place on 17./18. September 2022 in Dallas - the PTO US Open will take place. Here it is then again in the individual race in the "everyone against everyone" mode.

In 2023 the series will be expanded to include the PTO Asian Open and the PTO European Open.

Each Open event has a minimum prize purse of at least US$1 million and will be held over 100km – a 2km swim, 80km bike ride and 18km run.
