NEU: Garmin Forerunner 965 und 265 - jetzt Running Power am Handgelenk

News from Garmin: with the new Forerunner 965 or 265, triathletes and runners now have power measurement while running (running power) right on their wrist.

"Train brilliantly" is the overarching motto for the two new releases: the FR 965 as a universal triathlon and multisport watch, the FR 265 as a more specific running watch. Both continue the respective product series (FR 955 / 255) - with even more functions, data and evaluation options. The computer on the wrist analyzes the athlete's performance status and progress in more detail than ever before, it measures the training load, warns of overloading and gives training recommendations.

New: running power directly on the watch

The most interesting new function is the power measurement while running, which is now measured directly by the watch and displayed in real time without any other accessories.

As with cycling, the mileage is measured in watts, taking into account environmental influences, gradients, wind, etc., making the performance of different runs comparable and the training controllable. To do this, Garmin calculates the corresponding total performance from the individual components of the mileage, all of which are integrated in the two watch models 965 / 265:

Graphics: Garmin

  • Kinetic Force: Watch speed data
  • Potential Force: Elevation data from the watch's barometer
  • Vertical Movement Power: Running Dynamics Data Vertical Movement & Ground Contact
  • Horizontal Movement Power: Running efficiency data horizontal movement, stride length & running speed
  • Wind power: running speed, direction data, weather conditions, barometric measurement
