Glasfaser statt Carbon: Mizuno Wave Rebellion

The Wave Rebellion is Mizuno's brand new high-speed competition running shoe. The heart of the ultra-light racer is the glass fiber reinforced Wave Plate. The "Wave Plate" typical of Mizuno is the wave-like sole construction, which provides both cushioning and reactivity when pushing off. Compared to the regular Wave Plates in other Mizuno models, the propulsive rebound effect of the Wave Rebellion is significantly increased. Result: shorter ground contact times, more dynamic push-off, increased running speed.

But the fiberglass panel does not work by itself. The Wave Plate is supported by the new midsole material MIZUNO ENERZY LITE. This extra layer of nylon is extremely lightweight and offers 35% more energy return than traditional midsole materials.

First impression: It's fun

Slip them on and set the pace: The shoe is wonderfully light and, thanks to the sewn strap, encloses the foot like a sock. Once you're in, the Wave Rebellion immediately passes its forward momentum on to the runner. It's just fun to go hunting for speed with the shoe.

In terms of speed and energy recovery, the Wave Rebellion is a serious competitor for the carbon shoes from Saucony, Asics & Co.
