Dresden, August 5th, 2022 - One week after the cancellation of the race, organizer IRONMAN GERMANY has now presented an alternative date for the 70.3 DRESDEN: the middle-distance race is now scheduled to take place in the Saxon capital on September 18th.
The originally for the 31.07. The scheduled triathlon had to be canceled a few days before the planned race date due to a lack of official route permits, leaving the participants with a lack of understanding and disappointment ( > to the report ).
In a statement, the organizer promised to give the athletes an information update on the further course of events by August 5th and has already announced an alternative date in September.
In cooperation with the traffic authorities and transport associations of the city of Dresden, the district of Meissen and the district of Saxon Switzerland-Osterzgebirge as well as the Dresden police department, the preparations for the race have been coordinated under high pressure in the past few days and the new race date on Sunday, September 18, 2022 has been confirmed .
However: there is no official map of the bike course (as of August 5th, 2022)
